We aim to support the local first schools with their assemblies by taking collective worship two or three times a term. This is a great opportunity to share something of the hope we have as Christians at a very basic level. Currently Chris Friend and Julie Hammond go into St Michael's CofE First School and Swansfield Park First and has been invited into St Paul's RC First in January 2016.
Contagious is an ecumenical charity seeking to meet the needs of young people in the locality. Its activities currently include Rock Solid a high energy youth club for years 5-8 and Mettle for those in their teens. Both aim to make the bible relevant and real to our young people at whatever stage they are at as they grow up.

Recognising the need for a holiday club for older young people, Higher Sports ran for the first time at the start of the 2012 summer holidays. Catering for those in years 4-8, this was a week of team based competition centred around sport. At the end of each day, there is a thought for the day applying bible based principles to what the young people have been doing on the sports field. For example, teamwork, discipline, keeping your focus on the goal and in all of these areas helping the young people to see themselves as God sees them. The success of 2012 led the team to hold the week again in 2013 keeping the programme interesting by making some small but exciting adjustments. Both weeks have attracted 35+ young people and a brilliant team dedicated to making sure the young people not only enjoy the week but are both encouraged and challenged positively in a safe environment. Our 2016 Higher Sports was the best yet! We were at capacity with almost 40 young people who had a brilliant time. As in previous years the team leaders were fantastic. Our talks this year were about 'Jesus the Coach'. Yet again the rain stayed off and the sun shone!
