Jesus is the centre banner Jesus is the centre banner

NEW BANNER - this beautiful new banner now hangs in our church - illustrating Christian witness in Northumberland. The inspiration came from a smaller work displayed in Perth Baptist Church, Western Australia, and we have interpreted this into a Northumberland theme also using the county coastline. In common with Perth, we have included representations of the sun as the light of the world, music for praise, the tree of life, prayer, the cross, the word of God and the bread and wine. There are a number of symbols pertaining to our County and a circle of fellowship seeking to have Jesus as the centre. We have "painted" the pictures in fabrics and offer it as a work of worship trusting that it will help in your own worship of our Creator God.

South Africa Trip 10 - 20th February 2012
Our link missionary in South Africa with BMS is Dan Pratt who currently lectures at the Baptist Convention of South Africa training college in Soweto, Johannesburg. Dan was instrumental in linking up a team of 9 people from ABC with the Baptist Church in Tembisa, a large township, in February this year in order that we might learn more about life in the townships today, and to communicate something of God’s love to them from across the world. We shared in the life of the church, and worked with the Community Project based on the church site - doing ‘make-overs’ of the homes of two needy families, visiting the sick and elderly with the ‘home care-givers’, helping with the meals for the ‘orphans’ in the nursery and older children after school, running a kids’ club for those of school age. It was a very special time, and we gained far more than we gave, as you will see from the reflections of the team members which are available on Our Church/Mission page.

Brockley Hall Brockley Hall

More than 30 of the ABC family had a wonderful weekend away at Brockley Hall during the weekend of 16th November. The weather played a good part, the scenery was stunning, the hospitality and comfort of the Hall were great and we all had an inspirational time of fun, reflection, worship, knitting, jigsaws, walking, laughing, some tears and getting to know each other even better!  This was a small group setting off for a walk on the lovely North Yorkshire coastal paths. http://www.christianholidays.co.uk/brockley-hall.php
